Home-delivered meals are an important nutritional service provided by the Montgomery County Council on Aging. Monday through Friday of each week, our volunteers deliver a hot midday meal to seniors who are homebound.
Who is eligible?
Adults aged 60+ who are homebound can participate in the program. Note that spouses of seniors are eligible as well, even if they are younger than 60.
What are the benefits of the program?
The Home-Delivered Meals Program helps individuals continue to live independently and provides the nutrition they need for good health. In addition, our dedicated volunteers provide daily social contact and can be a valuable source of information on other community resources necessary to support special needs.
How much do meals cost?
There is NO fee for home-delivered meals. We do ask, though, that participants contribute what they can. No one will be denied service if they are unable to contribute. All contributions are used to expand services.
Where is the service available?
Home-delivered meals are available countywide.
How do I register?
To register for home-delivered meals, contact the Montgomery County Council on Aging at 910-572-3757.
How can I help?
You can support this important program with your time and financial gifts. If you have as little as one hour a day to spare, you can make a difference in our community by delivering meals and offering friendship and encouragement to the homebound. You also can make a difference through your financial support.
