Digital & Online Resources

A wide variety of digital and online resources are available to Montgomery County Library cardholders.  To access these online resources, you will be asked to enter you library card number and PIN number.  If you are unable to access one of online resources, please contact your favorite branch library for assistance.

OverDrive:   (eBooks) Best-selling & classic titles; browse the collection, borrow with your library card, and enjoy on your computer, tablet, smartphone or eReader device. 

NC Kids Digital Library: (eBooks) eBooks, eAudiobooks and streaming videos for children pre-K through 4th grade.

Freading:  (eBooks)  Over 20,000 titles available; compatible with almost all eReader devices.

 NCLive E-Books: (eBooks) Providing North Carolina’s library patrons with access to over 25,000 eBooks, including titles from:

Homegrown E-Books:  A collection of more than 1,000 eBooks from a variety of North Carolina publishers.

​OpenLibrary:  A downloadable eBook collection of books contributed from libraries across the country.

North Carolina Digital Heritage Center:  The Digital Heritage Center works with cultural heritage institutions across North Carolina to digitize and publish historic materials online.

Ancestry.com: Research your family history for FREE from a public-use computer at any SRLS library.

State Library of North Carolina:  Resources for students, researchers, genealogists, and others plus links to Government & Heritage Library and the Library for the Blind and the Physically Handicapped.

LibraryReads: A monthly list of ten must-read picks of newly-released titles.

DigitalLearn.org: An Institute of Museum and Library Services grant-funded project that includes a collection of self-directed tutorials.
