K - 12 Education

Montgomery County Schools is a countywide system comprised of six elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools and one learning academy. The system has just under 4,300 students. The largest private school in Montgomery County is Wescare Christian Academy. Located in Troy, NC, WCC has an enrollment of 78 students and offers Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Higher Education

Montgomery Community College offers two-year degree programs, continuing education coursework, and certificate programs to almost 5,000 students annually. 

Students that graduate with a two-year degree from MCC have the ability to transfer into any of the University of North Carolina campuses as a Junior.
