Hurricane Florence Information
Updated 09/16/2018 @ 5:30P
Hurricane Florence is moving at a very slow speed as it impacts the eastern portions of the Carolinas. The County Emergency Operation Center received it latest briefing from the National Weather Service at noon. The wind impact in Montgomery County has diminished some to expectations of sustained winds of 25 to 35 MPH, with higher gust. The threat of falling trees and utility lines will be a danger. There has been an increase of expected rainfall totals, which may cause isolated flooding. Consideration should be used if you live in an area, which is prone to flooding. Be observant for water on the highways throughout the next several days. Never drive or walk across moving water, “turn around, do not drown.”
