With all of the lakes in Montgomery County, there is no shortage of places to swim. A few specific spots are listed below, but don't be afraid to get out and find your own secret spot!
Arrowhead Campground 789 NC Hwy 24/27 E. Troy, NC is open to the public and is near the Cove Boat ramp making it a water recreation paradise with swimming, boating and fishing opportunities.
Cove Boat Ramp 400 Cove Rd. Eldorado, NC is a great place for setting in motorized and non-motorized water craft while others choose to swim along the shores of the Uwharries to the left of the boat ramp. There is a large parking area for vehicles and trailers.
Kings Mountain Point 789 Badin Lake Rd. New London, NC open 6a-10p is a fabulous day-use area with a slightly elevated view of the water on three sides. You can swim, use one of 34 picnic sites, fish from any of 4 piers and find ample parking.
